Cherie Gil and Rony Rogoff, her ex-husband, have two children together. Jay was the name of her son from her previous union with Leo Martinez.
At the age of 59, she died. She was being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, according to dispatches.

Mark was a Filipino entertainer who usually portrayed the main antagonist in action movies. He rose to fame for his portrayal of Lorna Tolentino’s former American boss, lover and murderer in the drama thriller The Elsa Castillo Story: The Chop-Chop Lady, whose screenplay was based on a real event.
Additionally, he has made guest appearances in several drama programs. The last was The Legal Wife, an ABS-CBN drama. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer on September 1, 2014, at the age of 52.
Liver cirrhosis due to liver cancer was the cause of death. He left his wife Maricar, six children, parents, siblings and seven grandchildren in his wake.
Michael, Cherie’s second brother, also started acting at the age of 16. It is also widely recognized in the film and television industries.
He got his start in the industry with Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi in 1975, and he’s still going strong today. In the ABS-CBN TV show Ang Probinsyano he was one of the directors and Pat. Ramil “Manager” D. Taduran since 2016.
For his work in Unfaithful Wife, he won Best Actor at the 11th Gawad Urian, and for Isa Pang Bahaghari he won Best Supporting Actor at the 46th Metro Manila Film Festival.

Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil gave birth to Cherie Gil. They logged on to a job. Michael Edward (Michael de Mesa), their first child, was born in 1960.
After the birth of their first child in 1961, they married. Raphael John (Mark Gil) and Evangeline Rose were later born to them (Cherie Gil). However, they divorced in 1970 following marital problems, including Mesa’s alleged drinking and feminization.
Rosemarie remained in the Philippines and resumed her acting career, but Mesa left for Guam in 1978 and lived there for six months before moving to Hawaii following the imposition of martial law in 1972. Mesa has made amends with his wife in 1986 after becoming a born-again Christian.
Cherie’s father is a former Filipino singer and actress. He was found by talent agents after singing a Sammy Davis song. Later he appeared in movies with Susan Roces and the late Fernando Poe Jr.
He is currently a pastor who sings the praises of God while living in the United States with his wife.
Similar to her, Rosemarie made her film debut in Sta. Rita De Casia (Patrona ng Impossible) from Premiere Productions, where she played the title role (1958). Some of his well-known films include Night of the Cobra Woman and Friends in Love.
Her most notable film of the 1970s, Burlesk Queen, in which she co-starred with Vilma Santos, received numerous accolades. She was nominated for the FAMAS Award and the Gawad Urian Award for Best Supporting Actor. At the Metro Manila Film Festival, she received the Best Supporting Actress award for her work in the film.
In 2004, she stopped acting in movies and on television. However, in 2018, she returns in the film Delia & Sammy.
