The most recent powerlifting gold medalist at the 2022 Commonwealth Paralympic Games is Zoe Newson.
Unexpectedly, she is also the first Briton to win the tournament since Nigeria won it twice in a row. Newson, who competed for the England team, finished first and second in the women’s lightweight para powerlifting final.
