Quinton Tellis: has he been convicted? Updates on Jessica Chambers Murder Hearing and Verdict
Quinton Tellis is suspected of killing Jessica Chambers, a student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe who died in 2015 after being burned to death. He also killed Ming-Chen Hsiao in the same way.
Tellis has appeared in court proceedings several times. The jury was unable to reach a verdict, however. When Tellis’ attorneys attempted to cast doubt on an important piece of evidence in the case, the case was adjourned once again.
In 2015, Quinton Tellis was charged with the murder of Jessica Chambers.

The 19-year-old Courtland, Texas cheerleader worked at a clothing store. She was well known for dealing narcotics and received a lot of attention from her male pals, according to court documents.
Chambers had driven to a nearby gas station in 2015 to fill up her car. However, she was already close to being rescued when firefighters arrived at the scene of her car being destroyed. Although Chambers didn’t specifically say someone set her on fire, she did mention the names “Eric” or “Derrick”. The case has since become extremely complicated.
She was taken to a hospital in Memphis, where the next day she died of her injuries. According to medical records, she died from a heat injury.
Erics and Derricks were wanted as police opened an investigation into the incident. However, they were unable to identify the attacker.
Police eventually paid attention to gang member Quinton Tellis. The day he died, he was with Chambers.
Despite conflicting reports, Tellis confessed to having slept with Jessica once to police and provided an accurate description of the scene.
Tellis was held in a jail cell in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, after being charged in Mississippi in February 2016. He was charged with the murder of Ming-Chen Hsiao, a Taiwanese woman and former student of the microlight. His trial for the case took place in January 2022.

In 2017, Quinton Tellis went on trial in the Jessica Chambers case. He was detained due to evidence that he called Chambers before he died. Moreover, the evidence suggested that Tellis had threatened Chambers in his letters.
Another crucial piece of information showed that Tellis was the last person to meet Chambers before his death.
He was charged in February 2016 and the initial trial took place in October 2017. He however pleaded not guilty to the capital murder charge.
His retrial in Batesville, Mississippi, was canceled on October 1, 2018, the seventh day, due to the court’s inability to reach a decision.
Quinton Tellis hearing postponed and rescheduled
The Quinton Tellis murder trial in Louisiana has been delayed again.
The trial will begin on August 29, 2022, and a judge will preside over it, according to WJTV. He is currently being held in Monroe at the Ouachita Correctional Center.
Tellis was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Ming-Chen Hsiao in 2019. After pleading guilty to one count of using Hsiao’s access card without authorization, he was sentenced to ten years in prison.
