The passing of Mayor John Grace has left the town of Goderich, Ont., in mourning since Wednesday morning.
John Grace, who was born and raised in Goderich, Ontario, owned and operated a number of small businesses there and spent over 30 years working in the tourism industry.
He was a councilor and deputy mayor of the town of Goderich for 17 years. John won the 2018 contest for mayor of Goderich.

According to a press release from the Huron Chamber of Commerce, Lake Huron communities pay tribute to Mayor John Grace Goderich, who passed away suddenly.
According to the Goderich Citizen’s Exchange Facebook page, Grace died in a boating accident in Pickle Lake, north of Thunder Bay; however, information is still scarce.
This information has not yet been confirmed by the police. On Wednesday morning, the Huron County Council reportedly observed a minute’s silence for Grace.

John volunteers regularly and considers it the cornerstone of any community. He received the Outstanding Volunteer Award and the Melvin Jones Fellowship for Devoted Humanitarian Service.
