Hamada’s way away from the Snyderverse

But apparently Walter Hamada had plans, a pretty good plan if you ask DC fans. But whether or not Zaslav will follow them remains to be seen. According to reports, after the disaster which was the 2017 Justice LeagueHamada attempted to steer the studio away from the Snyderverse and opt for a reboot with the Crisis on Infinite Earths scenario in mind.

We all know Hamada wasn’t happy with Zack Snyder and the Snyderverse, even after the Justice League Snyder Cut became a much bigger hit for the studio than the original release. So it’s no surprise that Hamada is ready to move on from all this spectacle with an even bigger event in mind.

Much like Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, DC has a few crossover events with plenty of characters and amazing storylines. Obviously there is Crisis on Infinite Earthsthen the Breaking point script, Identity crisisand a few others as such.

Hamada’s plan was to release three to four films each year, which would eventually lead to the Crisis story, and bring together all the old and new characters that would be introduced throughout. When bat girl was sidelined by Zaslav, Hamada was ready to leave but was convinced to stay until at least 21st October, for the release of Dwayne Johnson’s star black adam film.

DCEU’s Future in Troubled Waters

As of now, DCEU is moving forward with a minimum of three films that will see light at the end of the tunnel – Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the gods, and the flash. But after that, the DCEU’s future is a bit murky. With bat girl already set aside, and the star of Sasha Calle super girl rumored to be cancelled, we can only hope that Xolo Maridueña blue beetle makes the cut without any delay.

The Crisis on Infinite Earths is one of the biggest crossover events in DC history. Being able to see it on the big screen would have been satisfying if done right. We had already seen the event happen once for the CW Arrowverse crossover in 2019. And it was a treat for viewers, with so many DC characters coming together on screen.

Could Crisis on Infinite Earths be the DCEU’s saving grace?

To have the same thing, but multiply it tenfold in terms of production for a movie, would have been one of the best things for DCEU. But now, with so much change under CEO David Zaslav, it’s hard to imagine what the man has planned for the future. And if Walter Hamada will stay in his role as president of DC Films, or leave afterwards black adam is released.

After all, it was Hamada’s plan to move slowly towards crisis events over the course of a few years. Whether or not Zaslav believes in this vision, and whether Hamada will be willing to stay if given the green light, is a discussion for the future, albeit an immediate one. With the flash heading for a 2023 release, even with main star Ezra Miller being a part of so many scandals, makes us believe that DCEU wants to properly introduce the multiverse with this movie.

If Crisis is truly their endgame (pun very intentionally), then it will be interesting to see how DCEU plans to fit all the different characters from the DC Universe into their DCEU storyline over the next two years, until so that it can be a reality.

Whether or not the Crisis The event is part of Zaslav and DCEU’s new ’10-Year Plan’, fans of the DC Universe would love to see something of this magnitude, which can have a similar impact to Marvel’s End of Game. For now, we can only cross our fingers and hope for good news from the franchise.
