After the announcements at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, we thought we’d review the nine characters we need in the MCU as soon as possible. It’s a hotbed of discussion regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – what’s next, what to expect, and like the point of this article, who to expect to arrive shortly. We got some surprising news in the new Avengers movies, all eighteen episodes daredevil show, but there are still a few unknown slots available over the next three years, and with that the possibility of new characters being introduced.
9.Nova
To start this list of nine characters we need in the MCU, luckily, there’s one who is said to be on the way already. Supposedly with a show already in the works that will be released on Disney+ in the future, fans have been clamoring for the introduction of Nova since the Nova Corps featured so heavily in the first Guardians movie.
8. Mr. Negative
A relatively new villain for Spider-Man in the grand scheme of things, Mr. Negative has featured in multiple forms of media over the past fifteen years since his inception, most notably in the Spider-Man PS4 game, to great success.
7. Ghost Rider
Another recent entry in the news, we’ve gone fourteen years without a Ghost Rider in the MCU, but with the Midnight Sons clearly creating within the MCU, it needs one of its core members before it has a team movie.

6. Beta ray bill
Blink and you’ll miss it Other than the on-screen statue, we’ve yet to see one of the few characters capable of lifting Mjolnir other than Thor. Many thought we would see it happen in Thor: Love and Thunder but it didn’t, and the longer it lasts, the less likely it seems we’ll catch it.
5. Venom
With the symbiote being left behind at the end of Spider-Man: No Coming Home, it’s a matter of when not if we’ll get symbiote action in the MCU. The only question is whether we’ll get a black Spider-Man costume with it. Secret Wars coming soon, or are we going to skip that and have the symbiote go full Venom with Eddie Brock, or fingers crossed, maybe Marc Gargan’s Scorpion?
4. The Punisher
Portrayed by Jon Bernthal in the Netflix series daredevil and The Punisherit’s kind of obvious to not only recast him in the same role, but hopefully reintroduce him to the MCU in the next eighteen episode show for daredevil.
3. Miles Morales
Briefly mentioned in a single line of dialogue throughout Spider-Man: Homecoming, we haven’t seen or heard anything else of the Latin and Dark Spider-Man yet. With Secret Wars on the horizon, we may see him introduced and introduced to the MCU much the same way the character was introduced to the main comic book universe in the comic book of the same name.
2. The X-Men
An evidence. With rumored contracts and rights issues still ongoing through 2025, it’s fair to say we’ll be seeing plenty of X-Men in what will likely be The Mutants Saga after the current Multiverse Saga. There are so many stories involving the X-Men that many of us are incredibly frustrated with how slowly they arrive, but I have no doubt that Feige is worth it.

1. Doctor Doom
Number one for the nine characters we need in the MCU, another obvious one, and one that really looks like it’s on the verge of coming to fruition. with the next The Fantastic Four movie in phase six, we’re going to need to see Doctor Doom, and not necessarily as the villain of the first movie either. Give him time to build, maybe have him in Sokovia as Latveria’s replacement, rebuilding the land with his magic and technology after the Avengers destroy it, before becoming the next big bad after Kang.
There are my picks for the nine characters we need in the MCU ASAP, but who do you want to join the MCU soon?
