The internet has recently been abuzz about Paul Brand taking over from Richard Madeley as host of Good Morning Britain so Kate Garraway can make her debut.
From 2016 to 2020, Paul covered politics for ITV News. This year he was appointed UK Editor. He recently helped go public with a number of party scoops, but he just made his GMB debut. He played a crucial role in reporting on a number of events that allegedly took place in various government buildings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2017, Paul Brand and Joe Cuddeford were happily married. Cuddeford is a government employee who is employed by the Geospatial Commission, which is linked to the Cabinet Office.
Brand said on Twitter that he suffered homophobic abuse and misinformation from online trolls. He also refuted claims that his source was a family member. He claimed that neither he nor his husband attended any rallies or received notices of fixed fines.

On Sunday, the reporter shared a photo of himself holding the baby and her ecstatic husband Joe Cuddeford on Instagram to share the happy news.
Paul shared a photo with the couple’s surrogate days before they welcomed their child through surrogacy; the couple married in 2017.

He wrote, “Welcome to the world, Tomos George Cuddeford-Brand,” in Sunday’s statement. June 10, 9 lbs. 5 oz.
We had never known such love before. You are the most precious gift there is.
On his Instagram, civil servant Joe posted the same photos with the caption “Introducing Tomos George Cuddeford-Brand, born Thursday, June 10 at 10:40 p.m.”.
We are so grateful to have this wonderful child in our lives. Our surrogate’s entire family has been amazing.

Paul’s announcement received comments from a number of ITV celebrities, including Loose Women host Charlene White, who wrote: “Congratulations to you both and welcome to the world, Tomas! xx’

Paul sent Joe a photo from a vacation in Wales a few weeks ago.
Along with a photo of a sonogram, he captioned this: “Perfect weekend in Wales.” We will be three the next time we come back!
Since January, Paul has been the UK news editor for ITV. He had been a political correspondent for ITV News so far since 2016.
He is the patron of the LGBT+ youth organization Just Like Us, which now supports School Diversity Week in elementary, middle and high schools.
This is Just Like Us’ annual celebration of LGBT+ equality in education, which runs from June 21 to June 25.
1.97 million students from schools and universities registered to participate in the event last year.
Early and personal life
In Bridgend, Wales, Brand grew up.
Her mother received legal aid training. In the late 1980s and early 1990s he grew up. He says he intended to be a journalist “around the age of 17 or 18” and attended his local comprehensive school, where he rose to the position of head boy. He received an ITV scholarship to continue his studies in journalism at City University in London.

The School Diversity Week campaign and nonprofit Just Like Us, which promotes LGBT+ inclusivity in schools, were co-founded by Brand. He is the host of the ITV News Acting Prime Minister podcast.
At the 2019 PinkNews Awards, Brand was recognized as Broadcaster of the Year for his research into gay conversion therapy.
He persuaded Prime Minister Theresa May to apologize in July 2018 for her earlier votes on gay rights.
In July 2020, Brand received an Excellence in Journalism Award from the Press Gazette for his research which showed patients being transferred from hospitals to nursing homes without having their levels of COVID-19 checked.

In Searching for Patient Zero: Britain’s AIDS Tragedy, the research he supervised for Tonight, he identified John Eaddie as the first person known to have died of AIDS in the UK.
He presented on a documentary about Eaddie in November 2021.

He was able to film Downing Street staff making jokes about a Christmas party held secretly at 10 Downing Street while the nation was on lockdown during a press conference practice in December 2020. Brand was cited in the media as a favorite for the role when Laura Kuenssberg announced her resignation as BBC News political editor. The Times reported that “numerous industry sources” said the BBC contacted him about the role. Nonetheless, he decided to continue with ITV after securing additional roles, such as Tonight’s host. He was officially announced as Tonight’s new host on March 9, 2022, and took over from Julie Etchingham in April. Etchingham made the decision to leave Tonight in order to focus on ITV News at Ten and documentary efforts. Brand also continued his work as UK editor. For his new positions, he would have accepted a “significant increase in his remuneration”.
