Curiosity to learn more about Bruce Banner’s family tree was sparked after watching Jennifer Walters and Bruce Banner discuss who is the smartest in their family, in the first episode of She-Hulk.
At the discussion in the car just before their accident, Jennifer tells Bruce:You’re not the only smartest in the family! “. To which, Bruce replies, “No, I think there’s also Ched.
So, now we know Bruce Banner has smart cousins, and according to MCU, we know of two, Jennifer and Ched. But, what is the Hulk’s comic book family tree? Let’s lighten it up a bit!
Bruce Banner’s Parents
Bruce is the son of Brian Banner and Rebecca Banner in Earth 616. According to the comics, Bruce Banner aka Hulk was cloned and he was named Behemoth.
Brian was an abusive husband and hated his mutated son. At some point, Brian killed Rebecca and was sent to a mental hospital.
Later, Bruce was raised by his father’s sister, Susan Banner, who supported him through his pain and rage that resulted in his childhood suffering.
Over time, Bruce began to talk about how he had an imaginary friend named “Hulk” residing within him. It is his alter ego who has retained all the rage and fear he had had since his childhood.
And that’s the reason why his alter-ego is angry and makes him stronger to never feel fear again.
Jennifer Walter’s Parents
Jennifer Walters is the daughter of Elaine Banner Walters and Morris Walters. Elaine is Brian Banner’s sister and thus Jen and Bruce are immediate cousins.
Unlike Bruce, Jennifer had a great life and she is going to marry John Jameson Jr. In the comics, they are divorced after a few years of their marriage.
Bruce Banner’s wife and children
Bruce first married Caiera and gave birth to Hiro-Kala and Skaar.
Later he had another daughter with Thundra and they named her Lyra.
Subsequently, Hulk had another relationship with Monica Rappacini and had a daughter with her, who was named Carmilla Black.
Hulk had two other relationships with women named Jarella and Elizabeth Ross.
All of this on the Hulks Family Tree Comedy Channel. We can’t wait to hear more about the more connected siblings and family members Bruce has in the Marvel comics. How far will MCU go to introduce detailed family characters? We will know when it is time.
