‘I can’t believe it…Literally just cried’: House of the Dragon cast members suggest Season 1 ending will be nerve wracking

Dragon House didn’t take the time to mesmerize fans with its first episode and remind them of the good old game of thrones days. This series serving as a prequel to the original GoT is set 200 years before the events of the original show and focuses on House Targaryen. Even though we only got the first installment of the 10-episode long-running saga, in a recent video the film’s cast hinted at a shocking and gruesome season finale. From the reactions received in this video, it’s clear that the conclusion will be surprising enough to keep people discussing it for weeks.

A terrible end to the season

Although the storyline takes place 200 long years before the events of GoT, the names of the creators associated with it have not failed to sow doubt in the minds of fans as well as excitement. Especially after what we had in the game of thrones series finale, it’s best not to talk about it. But looking at the cast members’ reactions to the Dragon House season finale, it looks like it’s likely to be a nerve-wracking experience.

Olivia Cooke who plays Alicent Hightower didn’t take the time to explain her reaction to the series finale as immediate fear:

“Fear, fear, fear. I think of fear, fear, fear, immediate fear. And also excitement.

Rhaenys Velaryon actress Eve Best also said that the finale was amazing and definitely something no one can expect:

” I can not believe it ! I can not believe it ! You can’t, you can’t!

While others were shocked by the finale, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen’s young actress Milly Alcock discovered her character’s true significance:

“I literally just cried. I hadn’t realized how invested Rhaenyra was going to be in the story when I auditioned. I did two self-tapes and got a call a week later Little old me, on the other side of the planet literally living in my mom’s attic, doing the dishes in a restaurant. Then I read it and I was like, ‘Oh my god, what the hell? what is happening ?’ So yeah, I just cried.

Being one of the most anticipated shows of this year, it is believed to rekindle the hype of game of thrones which was sadly lost due to the lackluster season 8 of GoT.

While there are no confirmed reports of a second season of the show, in the words of some associates, it’s to be expected. During the cast reaction, Criston Cole actor Fabien Frankel hinted that the ending would leave the doors open for more content and plot to come:

“I will say it’s very well put together if there was ever a second season,” he said. “The first season is very well prepared. They left the door open.

While Frankel’s statement hinted that the doors would remain open for future seasons, showrunner Ryan Condal provided a clearer take on this. According to him, they can only easily move the story forward if HBO is willing to:

“I think we have a good plan for season two, if HBO is willing and willing to continue telling the story with us. There really are 300 years of Targaryen history to explore, and there’s a lot of stories in there that are really fascinating.

Now, it will be an exciting wait to see which direction the series ultimately goes. While Season 2 is more likely to be confirmed keeping the modern format of hit TV shows in mind, the thrilling part will be the execution of the storyline that will be followed.

Dragon House also stars Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine and Rhys Ifans in other key roles.

While House of the Dragon episode 1 airs on HBO Max, the rest of the episodes will air in the coming weeks on HBO and HBO Max.
