Early life and family

Jem was born the second of three children in her family – one brother is a year older and her younger brother is five years her junior. The names of his family members are unknown, however, it is known that his father is of Czechoslovak descent.

It is also known that Jem’s mother is a fitness fanatic and her daughter’s main inspiration. Jem opened up about his parents in an interview: “I’m going to buy my mom her dream car and I’m going to make sure my parents are taken care of by me personally for the rest of their lives.”

Jem’s family moved from Darwin to Perth, a bigger and more vibrant city, when she was two years old. Even though Perth is not Wolfie’s home town, she says: ‘I love Perth and I’m not going to leave Perth, I don’t see myself anywhere else’.

There is no information about Jem’s early education, but she started playing basketball at the age of nine and excelled at it. She played the sport at a competitive level in the Western Australian Basketball League as an adult, but suffered a knee injury that required surgery and a long period of rehabilitation. She therefore stopped practicing this sport competitively and only practices it casually.

vegan chef

After his baccalaureate, Jem started his chef practice at “Feral”.

As she worked there 70 hours a week, she quickly excelled in the trade. When she finished her practice, she joined “Taylor’s Café”, however, Jem soon discovered that the life of a professional chef was not for her. Despite the situation that led Jem to quit her job, she said restaurant owner Caroline Taylor was one of her biggest inspirations: “She pushed and encouraged me to start my own business, making sweets raw and healthy vegan”.

Looking for more opportunities to grow as a professional, in 2013 Jem started posting photos on Instagram of her healthy recipes: “It’s gone crazy – so many locals, cafes and even many gyms were ordering cakes and my raw protein balls of happiness”.

Due to the approval Jem received from her recipes, she opened her own vegan restaurant named “Good Eats” in Perth which offered vegan and healthy menus. The restaurant, however, closed in 2018.

Fitness – Instagram

Along with Jem started sharing her recipes on Instagram, she also started sharing her gym routines and workout online, gaining a huge following on the social media platform. At the time, she had already retired from professional basketball and thought her workout posts were a good way to stay physically active: “I started posting a lot of workout videos on Instagram, no. only to motivate me to improve and train. more often, but hopefully to inspire others to do the same”.

As she gained followers, several sports brands contacted her to promote their products, but Jem wanted to stand out from other influencers, and chose to approach the situation in her own way: “I was very, very clear to almost every brand I’ve worked with from the start that, “I don’t want you to send me boxes and boxes of supplements or a load of leggings, I want to get paid”.

Jem’s drive to create unique content is what sets her apart from the rest. Her main fanbase consists of young straight men and fitness fans, but as she began to include her love for basketball in her posts, she also attracted players from various sports.

As her videos started to go viral, she was contacted by Atlantic Records to promote their artists’ songs: ‘Let’s say Atlantic Records has Cardi B’s new song to push, they’ll be like, ‘Jem, we want you put this on your next video’, then when Cardi’s team approves it, I press ‘publish’.

Perceiving that his fitness content was getting confused with his normal content, Jem decided in 2016 to open a secondary Instagram account, on which to share his work as a physical trainer. On this account, she also promotes her e-books and recipes, as well as her workout routines.

She is still active on her main account and constantly sharing content there.

However, she tried to maintain a different image in this one, refraining from sharing workout content and instead focusing on sharing photos of her daily life, her work as a model, and brand promotions. She also recently launched her own brand named “shopwolfgang”, which features sportswear designed by her.

Explicit Content Creator – Fans Only

In August 2018, Jem Wolfie decided to become a content creator on OnlyFans – on this subscription-based media site, creators offer their exclusive services and content to their subscribers, who are referred to as “fans”. Jem said, “I wanted to bring more exclusive content to my fans and get them to pay because I thought my content had value.”

Website founder Tim Stokely spoke of Wolfie’s success on the site, “Jem currently has the largest following, with around 10,000 paying $15 a month to view his content.” The audience she gathered on this site led her to gain more economic benefits than on Instagram: “Because the content is exclusive compared to that of Instagram, Jem has earned more than 2 million dollars since joining OnlyFans in August,” Stokely said in 2019.

Even though Jem’s content on OnlyFans is exclusive and intended for mature audiences, she has been careful to maintain a boundary and does not share completely naked photos of herself. Of this, Jem said, “People complain and say ‘Where’s the nudity’, but where do you go from there – you’ll be in full-fledged porn before you know it”.

Private life

As Jem does not share his personal life on social media, there is no information about his romantic relationships or former partners. It is said that sportsmen and other high profile men have tried to pursue a relationship with her, however, Wolfie is not very interested in the money a famous man can provide: “unless they want to come here and settle down and have a humble life in little old Perth, no, I’m not interested in that”.

Besides her love for basketball and a healthy lifestyle, she is also an animal lover. She owns a dog named Mac, and with her clothing brand “shopwolfgang” has led several campaigns to raise funds for dog shelters.
