Hulu reinvigorates Dead Horror franchises
Hulu seems to be on a bit of a roll lately, with its excellent Costs drop earlier this year, then most recent Prey, which garnered rave reviews and gave fans of the Predator franchise new hope for the future. Hulu seems to be taking things seriously, including with the new hellraiser, bringing in franchise creator Clive Barker as executive producer to ensure its quality.

The upcoming reboot feels like a fresh, yet faithful, take on the franchise.
“A young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.”
While that doesn’t reveal much, it looks like we’ll be seeing the familiar faces we’ve grown accustomed to in the franchise’s previous ten films, which is something at least.
Teaser, release date and more
As already mentioned, the official Hulu Twitter announced the David Bruckner-led reboot of hellraiser will hit our screens just in time for Halloween, October 7th.

A full trailer surely won’t be far away which will shed more light on the film, but for now fans will have to make do with what we have.
It doesn’t look like the next movie will be the only modern foray into the franchise, with HBO developing a Hellraiser TV series. From now on, David Gordon Green of Halloween, Halloween kills, and Halloween ends trilogy is attached to produce a few episodes, including the pilot. HBO followed in Hulu’s footsteps by having Clive Barker produce the show as well.
