Dash is of Bajan American and Mexican descent, and was born in the Bronx neighborhood of New York. He was raised in the Spanish Harlem neighborhood. She was born into the family of her parents, Dennis Dash and Linda Dash (née Lopez, died in 2017). Cecil Holmes is Dash’s father-in-law and his younger brother Darien Dash is the creator of DME Interactive, which was the first publicly traded African-American-led website company. Dash himself is the CEO of DME Interactive. His first cousin once removed, Damon Dash, is the former CEO and one of the co-founders of Roc-A-Fella Records. Dash graduated from Paramus High School in 1985 after completing his studies there.
Career
In 1982, Dash made his television debut in the pilot episode of the NBC crime drama Farrell: For the People, which also starred Valerie Harper and Ed O’Neill.
