During a Q&A session at the Steel City Convention in Pennsylvania, the 74-year-old director shared his thoughts on the sequel to Halloween

“I don’t care about Halloween aftermath. I did the first one as a director, and it’s the only one that matters to me apart from the salary I get for the others. I hate to be that kind of guy, but it’s the truth.

You can’t really fault Carpenter for disliking the other films in the franchise, because after all, none of them lived up to the original. Halloween film.

John Carpenter hints at a new Halloween movie

During the same Q&A session at the Steel City Convention in Pennsylvania, Carpenter was asked about the follow-up to Halloween (1978), and on future installments in the deductible-

“I didn’t expect there to be a sequel [to Halloween ’78]. Cinema is ruled by money. [The first] Halloween made so much money, here they came back, same guys [saying]’Hey John, let’s do another one'”

“I guarantee you, if Halloween Ends is making a lot of money, guess what? Guess what.

As you can see, Carpenter isn’t ruling out another film from the iconic franchise even after Halloween ends versions, despite the name of the latest installment. Maybe we’ll see him behind the camera this time? It’s unlikely, but there’s no harm in dreaming.

Halloween ends is gearing up for a theatrical release on October 14, 2022. It will also be available to stream, albeit on paid tiers, on the Peacock streaming platform for sixty days.
