When it comes to upside down 2, the second installment of a acclaimed and fan-favorite 2015 animated film produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures, two prominent figures who were a brilliant addition to the original film are not set to return – Mindy Kaling, who voiced Disgust’s Emotion, and Bill Hader, who voiced Fear. The reason? Something Disney is notoriously known for: underpaying its artists.

According to recent reports and speculation, Disney’s sequel to Upside down will be one of those exciting revelations that will officially witness its announcement at Expo D23. However, with the exclusion of two voice stars, fans are growing increasingly wary of the company’s baffling decisions.
Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling Will not return to Inside Out 2

Mindy Kaling, who is renowned for her dynamic and comedic range, has been involved in notable projects like Office, The Mindy Project, I never, etc. On the other hand, Bill Hader starred in enigmatic projects such as barry, It Chapter 2, and Rail accident, among other surprisingly creative attempts. There’s no denying the innovative caliber possessed by both actors.
The two are also exceptionally good at voice acting, with their stunningly gorgeous performance in 2015 Upside down upsetting the public of the time. Imagining a world where fear and loathing aren’t expressed by one or the other is pretty dreadful. Much to everyone’s dismay, the two walked away from upside down 2following reports of insufficient wage offers.

Apparently, Amy Poehler, who is the voice of Joy, is on a salary of $5 million. Additionally, the other voice actors only received a sum of $100,000 in compensation. This included Kaling and Hader. To make matters worse, Poehler would benefit from additional fees and bonuses, which the others were deprived of.
Following the decision of the two actors who declined Disney’s offer, the company planned to increase the amount of salary it was initially willing to give. However, according to the report, the extended amount was not enough to bring Hader and Kaling back for Upside down 2.

Disney, which previously came under fire from internet critics following news of overworked and underpaid VFX artists, chose to undermine the value of distinguished voice actors and professionals, resorting to tactics that people have called “cheap.”

The reputation that has been earned by The Walt Disney Company, following a series of reports and rumors claiming that their workers and performers have been deprived of proper compensation, is neither flowery nor magical. Fans and the masses at large are growing increasingly uncomfortable with each report that barely scratches the surface, the tip of what constitutes a prodigious iceberg of egregious creative mistreatment stretching across the time and history.

As people continue to express their disappointment, what stands out as the most disheartening aspect of this situation is the widespread normalization of the work ethic and substandard compensation tactics that are prevalent in Hollywood. With the exception of Disney, many other multinational entertainment companies and mass media conglomerates have stuck to pay practices that insult talented professionals in the media industry.

While Pixar’s narrative future upside down 2 remains in the shadows, fans are waiting and eagerly awaiting Disney’s D23 Expo for official confirmations of the long-awaited sequel. We will soon see how the studios manage to refine the characters of Fear and Disgust. Will they cast new actors or will the story be changed accordingly?
Only time will tell.
