Early life
Mohammed was born on October 4, 1980 in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Her mother was a Cyprus-born general practitioner and her father was an Indo-Trinidadian legal professional. Abbey Grange High School was his high school alma mater. He apparently turned down an offer from Cambridge University and chose Durham University, where he was a Fellow of St Aidan’s College and played violin in the University Orchestra. He had auditioned twice for the Durham Revue but failed to get in and instead frequented the local comedy circuit. It was because of his interest in comedy that he decided to try Footlights, in which he did exceptionally well. Following a performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, he was contacted by a BBC producer.
Career
Mohammed appeared in the second season of the British TV show Reggie Perrin, which aired on BBC One, and he was a co-presenter of the British television comedy series The King Is Dead, which aired on BBC Three alongside Simon Bird and Katy Wix. . He has made appearances in Pete & Dud: The Lost Sketches, Miranda, How Not to Live Your Life and Life’s Too Short, and appeared on an episode of the BBC Radio 4 musical comedy show Alex Horne Presents The Horne Section.
