Brazilian UFC Champion Johnny Walker Is Currently Fighting Out Of Dublin, Ireland

In the UFC light heavyweight division, Johnny Walker is not a household name as he has no plans to let go anytime soon.

While admitting that his last two fights, against Thiago Santos and Jamahal Hill, didn’t go as planned.

Santos, the No. 13 player in the division, won both of his fights by unanimous decision after five rounds, while Hill lost by knockout in the first round.

Walker is working hard in preparation for UFC 279 to defeat Ion Cutelaba on September 10. The next performance will be in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada.

The UFC commented on Johnny’s rise as he reflected on his previous unsuccessful battles and his hopeful next match in the Octagon.

Mixed martial arts career

Carrier start

In December 2013, Walker made his professional MMA debut. He competed in his native Brazil for the next four years, with a record of 10 wins, 3 losses and all wins by stoppage.

Walker eventually received an offer of training from a Scottish businessman and settled there. After a month he didn’t get paid, so he left[7]. At the start of 2018, Walker moved to England, where he competed for several promotions, adding three more wins to his tally, and securing a position on Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2018. Walker, a Brazilian, decided to compete for England because he believed it was the country where he could best fulfill his potential.

On August 11, 2018, Walker debuted on Dana White’s Contender Series. In his battle with Henrique da Silva, he prevailed by unanimous decision. Walker earned a spot on the UFC roster with the win.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Walker faced Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC Fight Night 140 on November 17, 2018, making his promotional UFC debut. The knockout in the first round gave him the victory. Walker received his first Performance of the Night bonus award with the win.
