On October 30, 2021, Khamzat Chimaev and Li faced off at UFC 267. He lost the fight after being choked from the bare rear into unconsciousness in the first round.
On July 16, 2022, Li and Muslim Salikhov faced off at UFC on ABC 3. In the second round, he defeated his opponent by TKO. With this victory, he received the Performance of the Night Bonus.
Tony Ferguson and Li were scheduled to face off on September 10, 2022 at UFC 279. However, due to Khamzat Chimaev being underweight, Jingliang will now face Daniel Rodriguez rather than Kevin Holland, as was the original plan.
