Greyston, of part Hungarian ancestry as both of his paternal grandparents were Hungarian immigrants, grew up on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. In high school, he was drawn to music and started playing the guitar. This led to him becoming a member of a few bands, even forming his own hardcore metal band. However, he later moved to Vancouver to pursue an acting career instead of a music career.
Early career
In pursuit of his acting debut, Greyston attended a talent convention in Vancouver, where he was discovered by filmmaker David DeCoteau, and in 2004 he was cast in DeCoteau’s horror “The Sisterhood.” , with Barbara Crampton, Jennifer Holland and Michelle Borth.
