Warner Bros. plans for their future projects may hint at the return of the already set universe, the Snyderverse. Its success and the reactions given by the fans can very easily be a signal for DC to see its return.
The news of having the bat girl The canceled film created an uproar among the media as well as fans. The film was in post-production when news of its cancellation surfaced. The chief financial officer of Warner Bros. Discovery’s Gunnar Wiedenfels said it had no internal impact within WB from the deal created by the press and media.
He asserts that the media has greatly amplified the news and its impact compared to reality. He thinks this is all hype and the press is only doing it to create traction.
The DCEU could see a new team
bat girl was supposed to be Leslie Grace’s debut as the lead character in Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, however, this was quickly dropped from the roster instead of even being shelved for a while. CFO Wiedenfels says they have a much bigger budget than ever and a new team in the works. While still on the hunt for its own Kevin Feige, WB says when it comes to making decisions for the DCEU itself, five parties come into focus; namely WB, HBO, Discovery, Turner and CNN.
The whole process was divided and much more complicated after the merger between WB and Discovery. Even with savings up around $3 billion and surpassing the $1 billion milestone in synergies, the status of this new team is still unknown.

Gunnar Wiedenfels Opinions of the press
Gunnar Wiedenfels reported that WB took a much weaker hit compared to what the media gave. He also backtracked on a no when asked if there was a post-cancellation reset strategy; that a whole new team is in the works and the in-structure strategy would take place instead.
“The media likes to talk about [the] media, I guess,” said Wiedenfels. “We have healthy relationships with talent, and we provide one of the best platforms for anyone in the creative space.”

The potential restoration of the Snyderverse
Interviews with the film producer and potential former co-producer of Justice League Mortal Dan Lin quickly collapsed. If the fact that he jokingly called Snyderverse followers “bots” while still in negotiations wasn’t the reason, it certainly didn’t help when Zaslav seems to favor the timeline.
Film producer Dan Lin was in talks to produce Justice League Mortal but that fell apart in an instant. He mocked supporters and fans of the Snyderverse by calling them bots while DC CEO David Zaslav also seemed to be in favor of the idea. So he was not sitting well in his court.
While the process is still in talks and would take its time, the staff are doing their best to give us their potential vision as soon as possible. We could possibly see the Snyderverse return with the fan support and success it has had. Zack Snyder has created a world and storyline that the vision would work best with what they envision their audience’s response will be. With Zaslav also in favor of the return of this Snyder-created universe, perhaps it’s not too much of a stretch to see him return.
