Fame hit or real effort: Venom 3 star Tom Hardy wins the elite martial arts tournament and becomes a top-level blue belt fighting expert

Action movies with lots of melee combat are spectacularly cool and quite the treat. But how many actors who perform these action sequences, scene after scene, are able to fight like that in real life? Well, Tom Hardy is one of the exception group when it comes to knowing how to fight.

Hardy’s performance as Bane in The dark knight rises is impressive, and the fight scenes with him are breathtaking. It’s also pretty safe to say that all of that fighting in the movie and in his other movies isn’t something he just learned on the spot just to show it off in a movie.

Tom Hardy’s most recent achievement, a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu

Tom Hardy has appeared in many films where his role is that of a fighter, including the biographical drama Charles Bronson Bronson, as well as the sports action film Warrior.

His filmography shows us that he is chosen, but not all the time, like the badass of the film. And that badass connotation translates pretty well in real life for him, too.

The 45-year-old actor recently competed in the UMAC (Ultimate Martial Arts Championships) Milton Keynes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open which took place at Oakgrove Sports Hall in the city of Milton Keynes in the UK.

It wasn’t just him competing, the Bane actor also took first place in his division. This puts him higher up the BJJ ranking ladder with a prestigious blue belt (2nd highest rank after black belt).

Best to remind anyone who would try to mess with Hardy in real life, don’t do it because he’ll kick your ass like he did with Batman in The dark knight rises.

One of his opponents, who is not named, was stunned at the sight of Hardy’s appearance. The opponent told MK Citizen-

“I was waiting for the semi-final when Tom showed up. I didn’t know he was going to be there. And they expected me to stay calm…I recognized him straight away. Everyone knows who Tom Hardy is, right? I was in shock. He said ‘just forget it’s me and do what you normally would do.’… He’s a really strong guy… You wouldn’t think so with him being a celebrity.

Tom Hardy has made a name for himself outside of Hollywood and action movies in general. It’s great to see that the Venom star is not limited only to acting life, but is also able to hone his skills in another area.
