The Star Wars franchise has had a ton of terrifying and powerful villains in its movies, all of whom have been remembered in pop culture over the years with Darth Vader setting the bar high. Join the long list by Andor will be Denise Gough’s Dedra Meero, who will be paired with Kyle Soller’s Syril Karn.
Dedra Meero is a high-ranking Imperial officer bent on capturing Cassian Andor, she will also be the latest addition of villains for the Star Wars franchise. Gough explains his character dynamics in much more detail in a recent interview, and it’s pretty damn organized.

The new villain also pretty much has a superiority complex, evident in her dismissal of her male colleagues to achieve her own goals-
“She is surrounded by lazy, slouched, corner-cutting boys. And she doesn’t like it. So she’s going to climb the ladder at any cost for everyone.
All of these details for the character look very promising. Here’s hoping Gough’s Dedra Meero and Soller’s Syril Karn live up to the name of the Galactic Empire’s villainy in Andor.

Denise Gough Reminds Female Fans to Beware of Andor’s Dedra Meero Support
Villains are never meant to be idolized, no matter how cool they look, because at the end of the day, they’re the bad bunch against a good bunch (the heroes).
That’s exactly what Denise Gough wants to point out that no matter how well her character does on screen as a powerful woman, everyone should remember that Meero is part of a fascist regime.

In the same interview with Screen Rant, Gough continued his explanation of the Meero type of villain, pointing out the confusing conflict that could arise supporting a villain who is definitely on the wrong side of history in the SW-universe.
“I also think what I like is what’s really contradictory with Dedra is that it’s a new thing, isn’t it to have a woman in this world in this So part of you and I know that for a lot of women watching it, they’re going to be like, ‘Oh my god! While it’s hard enough to live up to the reputation of a villain like Darth Vader, Star Wars fans can only hope that Dedra Meero is able to create a huge influence in pop culture as that wicked, just like the inspirations she draws from- Gus The calm of Fring and the elegance of Melanie Cavill.
