Producer says James Bond is still a man
Meanwhile, other actors are not so fond of this new concept. Ana de Armas, who played Paloma in no time to diesaid in an interview with The sun“There is no need for a female Bond. It shouldn’t be necessary to steal someone else’s character, you know, to take over. It’s a novel, and it leads into this world of James Bond, and this fantasy of this universe that it’s in.”
With this in mind, the actress proposed that women in films be assigned important roles. “What I would like is for the female roles in the Bond films, even if Bond will remain a man, to come to life in a different way. Let them be given a more substantial share and recognition. That’s what I think is more interesting than turning things around.”
Barbara Broccoli, producer of james bond frankness, says The Guardian that she is not up to it either. “He’s a male character. It was written like a man, and I think it will probably remain a man. We don’t have to turn male characters into females. Let’s just create more female characters and adapt the story to those female characters.”
