Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn reunite on Apple TV+
With their latest project You better call Saul a resounding success, Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn have yet to stop the momentum as they head to the next show a month and a half after the conclusion of the first. Their collaborative effort on the AMC drama was a direct offshoot of the original series, breaking Bad. The latter also gave rise to a spin-off film, The Camino who closed the breaking Bad intrigue with actor Aaron Paul.

The new show follows through on Gilligan’s earlier promise not to be a “one trick pony”. Now moving away from crime drama, the Seehorn-led project will be supernatural, with a thought-provoking plot that twists reality and explores the human condition. About the project, Vince Gilligan expressed,
“After 15 years, I thought it was time to take a break from writing anti-heroes…and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn? It’s high time she got her own show, and I feel lucky to be able to work on it with her. And what a beautiful symmetry to find Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to ‘Breaking Bad’ all those years ago.”

The Gilligan-Verse Shutdown of Drugs, Crime, and Drama
The long-running show, You better call Saul, had ended on August 15, 2022, in widespread grief and disappointment. The world created by breaking Bad creator, Vince Gilligan was one of dark humor mixed with a caricature of fatal accidents that spiral further and further out of control with each passing episode. By the time the prequel series ended, it stood at 46 Emmy nominations, seven this year alone.
In a historic and heartfelt farewell speech by the series leader, Bob Odenkirk shared a moving behind-the-scenes video from the Band call Saul together, where he says:
“Everyone asks me how I feel about saying goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul, and I’m not good at answering the question because frankly it’s hard for me to watch this experience and even this character too close. There are too many moving parts and they fit together too well, and it’s a mystery to me how that even happened. I didn’t do anything to deserve this role, but I hope I have earned it in six seasons.
