When we last heard of Marvel’s Doctor Doom, Howard Stern appeared to be collaborating on an MCU project starring the iconic character. This does not seem to be the case. However, there’s a new development for the MCU’s Doctor Doom, with rumors that Marvel has cast Ryan Gosling as the Fantastic Four’s future nemesis.
With recent Doctor Doom concept art circulating that is believed to be from Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverfrom the post-credit scene, it looks like he may be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all. But why in a sequel to Black Panther and not in a The Fantastic Four film? That, my friends, is the million dollar question.

Why will Doctor Doom make his debut in Black Panther 2?
Doctor Doom, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, originally appeared in Fantastic Four #5 in April 1962. He is the leader of Latveria and is called Victor Von Doom. Doom is a brilliant magician and potential candidate for Sorcerer Supreme, as well as one of the most skilled scientists in the Marvel Universe.
He put on an iron mask and armor after an accident left him scarred. He is also Reed Richards’ nemesis and one of the most powerful villains the Marvel heroes have ever fought. Doom believes that through conquest he can bring order and balance to the world. That’s basically his philosophy. However, he has a complicated relationship with Wakanda.
With recent concept art circulating the internet and suspicions swirling about Doom’s involvement in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s post-credits scene, fans think we might see a setup for Doomwar in the movie. Doctor Doom led a hostile invasion of the nation of Wakanda in Doomwar, one of Marvel’s most important storylines. With a host of superheroes rushing to Black Panther’s aid, we witness all-out conflict as Wakanda engages in its most epic battle yet.

With the The Fantastic Four already introduced and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever set to highlight some major consequences for the country, a Doctor Doom clue appears to be in the works. With the appearance of the concept image, we should expect Doom to infiltrate Wakanda and take a large amount of Vibranium, as it was a major aspect of Doomwar. With the current setup and alleged concept art likely to be true, it looks like MCU fans are in for a treat.
Will Ryan Gosling play Doctor Doom?
According to Everything Always, Ryan Gosling will play Doctor Doom in the MCU. As with most other Marvel casting speculation, there is currently no confirmation. Ryan Gosling is one of the big name actors who has yet to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Considering we expect to see the character in plenty of movies, a Doctor Doom casting call is an intriguing move for the actor.

Fans also need a strong take on Doctor Doom, as the character has yet to live up to live-action expectations.
