Monica Rambeau is the daughter of Maria Rambeau who was a dear friend of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. Following the scenario of Wanda VisionMonica Rambeau’s character crossed the Hex 2 to 3 times which gave her powers never before seen!

Announcing his return to Wonders in 2023 it looks like Monica Rambeau’s powers have been significantly negated to keep more focus on Captain Marvel, fans say Marvel is “to disempower a black woman” is in the attempt.

Monica Rambeau’s powers are nervous for Wonders

Speaking at Expo D23, the film’s director Nia DaCosta said the original character of Monica Rambeau will not be seen in Wonders and only part of his powers will be used. The director made her statement as follows.

“With Monica, we really had to talk about, ‘Okay, like which of her thousand powers in the comics do we want to make canon in the MCU?’ Well, you know there’s a part in the comics where she realizes she’s immortal.

Impressive as it sounds, the director says audiences won’t be able to see Monica Rambeau’s ultimate form in Wonders as fans claim an attempt to depower a black woman is underway.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared news of a black woman’s attempted depowering, as Monica Rambeau’s powers may eclipse Captain Marvel’s. His powers include enhanced physiology, spectral vision, energy absorption, and intangibility, to name a few, as well as immortality and many other god-like powers that rival Captain’s powers. Marvel herself!

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their views and opinions, with most of them unhappy with the power shift.

The decision is indeed up to the folks at Marvel as to what Monica Rambeau’s powers should be. Wonders will combine Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau with her newly acquired abilities.

Wonders is slated for a July 28, 2023 release date and will hit theaters worldwide.
