‘I bullshit all day and people say, ‘No, thank you'”: Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron says she’s not as famous as Kim Kardashian anymore

In an industry where competition is fierce and fame and recognition equal currency, earning a name for yourself becomes inherently more difficult. Normally, however, one would expect famous celebrities and people who have already established themselves in the film industry to be exempt from this bitter reality. However, Charlize Theron no longer believes that to be true.

The recipient of a plethora of accolades, from an Oscar to a Golden Globe Award, Theron recently spoke about the ups and downs of Hollywood, primarily the latter, and claimed that his low level of fame is what keeps him to be more successful.

Charlize Theron thinks hard work won’t help her gain popularity anymore

Charlize Theron has starred in some of the most renowned movies like Mad Max: Fury Road and Italian work, and is also an esteemed producer. And yet, the actress has the feeling that she never succeeded in hitting Hollywood the way she would have liked.

In an interview she recently had with Harper’s Bazaar, Theron briefly touched on some things about her career that she thinks are hard, but unalterable truths. “I feel like I’m in a place where it is”she says.

She shared how hard work sadly no longer equals more recognition. “I think working more is not going to change my level of fame. It’s always been a mediocre race.”she observed.

The old guard The star admitted that the fact that she has a name in the industry doesn’t matter as much as one might think and that, regardless of her accomplishments, it has become extremely difficult to secure funding for the films she wishes to produce.

Not Having the “Kim Kardashian Level” of Fame Seems to Be a Hurdle to Charlize Theron’s Career

Theron has been very candid about how the fame she has is nothing compared to the fame of other celebs like Kim Kardashian. “I’ve never been one of those people that’s on the level of Kim Kardashian. But I feel like it’s always been that thing”she pointed out.

She remarked that before, if someone worked hard enough to make a name for themselves, they would be able to earn that recognition at some point. But that’s just not how things work right now.

“I will say, at the time, it felt like you wanted to have some of that fame so you could do the shit that you really want to do. But now it’s like I’m talking shit all day and people are like, ‘No, thanks. I’m like, ‘I guess it’s not money in the bank anymore'”Theron commented.

” And it’s good. It’s good that you do things based on their quality versus this idea of, “Oh, you’re that thing, and we want to do business with that thing.”

However, Theron also mentioned that no matter how daunting the circumstances may become, she won’t let such obstacles stop her from working. “There is a natural struggle in me to want to create environments that look like the things I wish I had 30 years ago when I started”she concluded.

Theron will next be seen in two new upcoming films, Mad Max: The Desert and x fast.
