Since Dragon House acts as a prequel to HBO’s hit drama series game of thrones, comparisons between shows, settings and characters had to happen. Following the recent release of the 6th episode of the series, fans have started comparing Alicent Hightower to Cersei Lannister.
Fans quickly got the response in kind as fans of the chaotic Cersei Lannister seemed to have outnumbered the upcoming Alicent Hightower by a much higher number.

With a commonality of incestual relationships, political backgrounds and, a race to determine who holds the Iron Throne, Dragon House works in sync with Game of thrones. Allegations of plotting to murder, whispering fear in her son’s ears and denying a peace deal all rest on Emily Carey’s Alicent Hightower head and yet she plays Game of Thrones like a fiddle .

Much like Lena Headey’s Cersei Lannister, Alicent Hightower is also paranoid about keeping the Iron Throne and passing it to her heirs rather than Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen’s heirs. Things seemed to spiral out of control when Rhaenyra had a child, whom the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms demanded to see immediately.
Fans took to Twitter to discuss the odds between Cersei Lannister and Alicent Hightower, but in the end, Cersei won.

Although a tweet made sense, people can’t compare Cersei’s 8-season chaos to the 6-episode chaos caused by Alicent Hightower. Alicent can get bolder and bolder over the later seasons and can have a character made of villainy much like Cersei Lannister.

The first season of game of thrones was crucial to the plot. The episodes, however, were filled with political discussions and necessary information about the audience to make them understand the world of Ice and Fire. Dragon House raises the bar by offering bloody battles as well as political discussions to keep the audience engaged throughout the episode.
Dragon House saw the release of the 6th episode entitled The Princess and the Queen was released on September 25 and was considered by many to be Alicen Hightower’s turning point. The 7th episode will be released on October 2. Dragon House is available to stream on Hulu with the HBO Max plan.
