Since the announcement of Wolverine joining the MCU in deadpool 3, fans wondered what the fate of the character was. In the film that was close to the heart of Hugh Jackman, Logan (2017) saw the end of Wolverine.

In one of the most hilarious post-credit scenes, Deadpool travels back in time to make changes in world history. In Deadpool 2we see that Wade Wilson goes back in time to the point of X– Male Origins: Wolverine (2009).

In the confrontation between Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Deadpool face to face in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the current Deadpool is seen entering the scene and shooting Deadpool bald and sewn in the mouth. After the events, Deadpool declares to a confused Wolverine, that there will come a time when he will put down the claws and when Deadpool asks him for help, he will put them on again.
This makes an interesting point for the theory that the Wolverine in the next Dead Pool 3 will be the same Wolverine that Deadpool talks to… but in a different universe. This scene sets up the current Wolverine perfectly as in the video, the two actors state that the timeline of Logan is in the year 2029 and they “won’t touch that”.

For now, we know how Wolverine will be adapted to the MCU by the brilliant post-credits scene set up in Deadpool 2 (2018). The duo will be seen gracing theaters around the world on September 6, 2024, and will be one of the biggest films the MCU has made. Deadpool 1 and 2 are available to stream on Disney+.
