Back to the press for Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, we return to the announcement of Ben Affleck’s casting as Batman and how he reacted to becoming the Caped Crusader. 2016 was a big year for the actor as he took on the iconic role of Bruce Wayne and became the new face of Batman before Robert Pattinson took over the cowl.
Along with doubting whether he was the right fit or not, he was also skeptical about the public’s reaction to the announcement. Especially since he had to face Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Ben Affleck’s First Thoughts on the New Batman
When Ben Affleck got the call for the role of Batman, he was confused as to how they planned to approach the character in the first place. His hypothesis concerned Batman’s origin story and how Bruce wanted to avenge his parents’ death and fight a supervillain in the process.
He had believed that his version of Batman should have his own journey and find his place in Gotham City. Ben Affleck then tried to convince Zack Snyder that he would not be the right choice for the role since he is far from 25 years old.

Zack Snyder smashed Ben Affleck’s interpretation of Batman
Upon hearing Ben Affleck’s Batman idea, Zack Snyder very easily erased the interpretation he had in mind. Snyder explained to the actor that the Batman he was to play would be the Frank Miller version of Batman. A Batman who would be much older, more muscular and on the verge of moral bankruptcy.
It got Affleck thinking about how perfect he was for the role and how much he’d love to play a fresher take on the character. Frank Miller’s Batman has a much darker tone and playing such a dark and confrontational Bruce Wayne was a unique opportunity for the actor as he took on the iconic role.
Want to continue more on The black Knight aspects of Batman, Affleck had to play a broken Batman who had ongoing conflicts within himself.
Ben Affleck will wear the suit again for the flash which should be released in 2023.
