Before being Captain America, Chris Evans was also known for playing the Human Torch in one of Marvel’s early box office hits in the 2000s. For those older, you know Evans as Johnny Storm, but for those born a bit later, Steve Rogers is the name.
It’s pretty safe to say that he’s had a much more central role in his films since Evans played Captain America, but it was indeed really his last role as a superhero in the MCU…which well sure, like his move from Human Torch to Captain America, is still subject to change. However, fans want a Captain America return with Evans wielding the shield, which is currently out of the question.

Chris Evans won’t reprise his role as Steve Rogers
Chris Evans’ MCU debut in Captain America: The First Avenger will forever be etched in the minds of Marvel fans, and we’ll always be grateful for the jaw-dropping performances he gave us as America’s New Hope.
But will we ever see a possible return of Evans as Captain America? Well, Anthony Mackie answers our doubts. Hanging on to the Captain America name, it’s now Sam Wilson, played by Mackie, who received the famous Vibranium-metal alloy shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Mackie will be the star of the next Captain America: New World Order, and he’s pretty adamant that Evans’ return as Steve Rogers is definitely not going to happen. In a chat with E! News, Mackie said-
“Chris is so far away from Marvel. Like, Marvel isn’t even in his radius. He’s so far away. He’s enjoying life. He’s like an old retired dude.
He further added that despite Evans’ split from the MCU, Mackie, Evans, and Sebastian Stan remained best friends even after all the hard work.
“It’s not often you meet people you work with who you genuinely miss and consider friends. Luckily, between the three of us, we’re actually friends. We go to each other and spend birthdays together.
Looks like Chris Evans is enjoying his time away from the Marvel movies, as there are already plans to work on other movies like Phantom and Pain hustlers.

Fans Ask Sam Wilson Chris Evans Fans To Accept Him As Captain America
Anthony Mackie’s passing of the mantle of Captain America to Sam Wilson sparked unwarranted disgust from a swath of Marvel fans, which still rings true to this day as journalists still ask him about a possible return of Chris Evans as Captain America.

It’s pretty disrespectful to ask the CURRENT Captain America about any possible return of Evans as Steve Rogers, and Marvel fans are all for it on that. The recent interview (above) with E! The news further proved that people don’t take Mackie seriously as Captain America, and Twitter is going crazy about it-
Brother why do you want Steve back, like Sam is the man now, stop invalidating him

Exactly, Steve Rogers lived his life with Peggy Carter, let it be-
Good. The worst decision this franchise can make is to make everyone invincible like in the comics. The real world has real stakes, think about it. Advance.

Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine says something though…
After Jackman’s return, I’m sure nothing is impossible. I think at least one commemorative cameo in secret wars or kang Dinasty is needed

Steve Rogers aka Chris Evans is completely done and dusted off as Captain America. Evans has already given us enough Cap content too, so why not try some new stuff and let Sam Wilson take on the role in peace for once?
Captain America: New World Order will be released on May 3, 2024.
