Fans have been very excited about Marvel’s next show, Daredevil: Born Again. The show would bring Charlie Cox back as daredevil on screen and in the MCU. Before the studio officially announced the series, rumors began that Eiza Gonzalez would join the series as Elektra. With Charlie Cox finally making his return as daredevil in the MCU, fans have also started to speculate about the return of other characters from the Netflix series.
However, the studio has only confirmed that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Kingpin in the upcoming series. There is speculation that the rest of the cast, including Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, will reprise their roles in Daredevil: Born Again. Eiza Gonzalez, who is rumored to play the role of Elektra in the series, has finally addressed the rumors, and she doesn’t seem happy with those rumors.

Eiza Gonzalez hopes to play a cool superhero
Months after rumors began that Eiza Gonzalez would be cast in the Disney+ series, she’s speaking out about the rumors. Responding to these rumours, Eiza Gonzalez said that she received hate because of these casting rumors, from those who do not wish to see her in the role.
“I feel like I’m just going to get rid of it because, one, I’m confused about how much hate there is, and two, I feel like it’s saving energy to people. people”, she mentioned in one of her tweets. She further denied the rumors saying, “No, I’m not cast as Elektra in Daredevil.” The Bloodshot star said she already has a series exclusive deal in the works for The three-body problem.”

In her following tweets, Eiza Gonzalez said she would appreciate if people just let her live without negative and ill-intentioned posts about the role. Gonzalez even mentions that she has no idea which character she was rumored to be cast in.
Finally, Gonzalez said she always wanted to play a cool superhero at some point in her career. She quoted him as, “It will be a lot of fun, and I’d be honored to even be considered.” However, she does not play Electra in Daredevil: Born Again. She ended her last tweet by saying she would watch daredevil and send all the love to the cast.

Would Elodie Yung reprise her role in Daredevil: Born Again?
Now that Eiza Gonzalez has denied the rumors, fans are wondering if Elodie Yung will reprise her role in the upcoming series. Elodie Yung played Elektra in the 2015 daredevil. She currently plays in The cleaning ladywhich premiered on January 3, 2022. The second season of the show premiered on September 19, 2022.
No details about the show are revealed other than that it won’t be a sequel to the 2015 action drama. Charlie Cox himself has said that born again would not follow the original daredevil. As for the cast of the show, only two names have been revealed so far.
The only cast available for the series is Charlie Cox as Matt Matt Murdock/daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as pivot. The studio has yet to reveal whether or not the rest of the cast will reprise their roles on the show.
Daredevil: Born Again will be released in the spring of 2024 on Disney+.
