The second episode of the “Love You to Death” series on Investigation Discovery examines a brutal, Shakespearean tragedy of a love triangle that resulted in the death of one teenager and nearly thirty years in prison for another. In April 2009, in Pinellas Park, Florida, Sarah Ludemann was stabbed to death following a dispute involving her pursuit of a man’s affection. In case you want to know more, as well as the current location of the offender, as well as the person for whom it all happened, we have you covered. How about we find out, okay?
How did Sarah Ludemann die?
Pinellas Park, located in Pinellas County, Florida, is where Sarah Rose Ludemann was born on December 7, 1990. She was the only child of her mother, Gay Ludemann, and her late husband, Charles M. Ludemann , who drives a taxi. Her mother and father had been trying for a child for a very long time, so Sarah’s arrival gave them indescribable joy. She was a capable and deserving student who maintained a perfect grade point average and aspired to become a veterinarian. When she met Joshua Camacho at a neighborhood Chick-fil-A, things quickly changed for her. Before that, she wasn’t as into the dating scene as other teens, but that quickly changed. After she started working there, their relationship took off like a rocket.
Sarah, who was head over heels in love with Joshua, ultimately couldn’t understand that he was untrustworthy until it was too late for her to change her fate. On April 14, 2009, police received numerous 911 calls reporting a fight between a group of young girls, at least one of whom was armed with a knife. The incident allegedly took place in a parking lot. Sarah’s two stab wounds were caused by a razor-sharp steak knife; the first was in the shoulder, and the second was in the center of his chest. On April 15, 2009, at around 2:20 a.m., the 18-year-old patient was taken to the hospital, but died there a few hours later. After the fact, prosecutors claimed she was stabbed with such force that the murder weapon was twisted.

Who Killed Sarah Ludemann?
Because Sarah Ludemann, later found to have life-threatening injuries, was able to reach Joshua and tell him what had happened, the investigation into who had committed the murder could be completed quickly. Rachel Marie Wade was identified as the attacker by him and numerous other witnesses who were there at the time of the incident. Rachel sobbed uncontrollably after learning that Sarah had died during a police interview about the crime she had committed. After interviewing her and the other children, investigators were able to put together the pieces of the puzzle that were the events of last night and the events leading up to them.
Rachel left high school when she was 16 and started working as a waitress at Applebee’s. She paid for her own apartment and even got her GED working there. According to reports, she was named the “greatest flirt” in her high school yearbook. She was said to have dated a number of boys, but for some reason she was obsessed with Joshua, who had a stocky physique and spoke softly. According to information collected by the police, Joshua was a “gambler” who for the past eight months or so had simultaneous affairs with three different women: Rachel, Sarah and Erin Slothower. Sarah and Rachel engaged in fierce competition with each other in order to win Joshua’s favor. This was despite the fact that Joshua had already fathered a child by Erin.
Reports said the two teens had hugged, harassed and threatened each other through voicemails they left for each other. According to testimonies provided by witnesses, Sarah and her friends harassed Rachel at her place of work by following her, deliberately colliding with her vehicle and shooting her by Silly String. Rachel had even filed a formal complaint with the authorities, stating that Sarah was stalking and harassing her. Additionally, she threatened Sarah in voicemails she left for her, one of which was ultimately instrumental in the case that led to her conviction.
Rachel had gone to Joshua’s house on the evening of April 14, 2009, intending to meet him with Sarah. She allegedly threatened Sarah on the phone, saying, “I’m going to stab you and your Mexican lover,” according to witnesses who overheard the conversation. After leaving Joshua’s house, Sarah got into her parents’ van and drove to Rachel’s residence with the intention of confronting her. However, Rachel seems to have been prepared for her, as evidenced by her stabbing her in the next confrontation.

Where is Rachel Wade today?
Sarah Ludemann’s killer, Rachel Wade, has been arrested and charged with the murder. When Sarah approached her while she was driving a vehicle and came dangerously close to running her over, her lawyer claimed her client had acted in self-defense by attacking Sarah. According to the prosecution’s allegations, it was Rachel who started the altercation and stabbed Sarah before she could even get out of the car. Sarah was a victim of this attack. Ultimately, Rachel was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to 27 years in prison in September 2010.
Rachel is currently being held in a solitary confinement cell at the Florida Women’s Shelter in Ocala, Florida, according to official court documents that have been compiled. The earliest release date listed in her prison records is September 29, 2032, which means she will be in her early 30s when she finally gets out.
Where is Joshua Camacho now?
Following the ensuing media frenzy when the incident came to public attention, Joshua Camacho’s parents sent him to New York to live with a relative. This happened after the public fascination with crime had reached fever pitch. However, some who knew him believe he was still in the area after the stabbing and even briefly reconciled with Erin, who was in charge of raising their child at the time. He stays out of public view and avoids the press; the only time you’ll hear from him in public is when he testifies at Rachel’s trial.
Joshua said neither girl has ever been his girlfriend. However, in a prior interview with police, he said he had broken up with Rachel after hearing allegations that “she was sleeping”. In this interview, he said he broke up with Rachel after hearing these rumors. According to his close friends, Joshua was “devastated by the disaster” and denied ever visiting Rachel while she was incarcerated.
