Henry Cavill is probably hitting the air right now.
The British actor was terribly disappointed with his recent Times Square excursion which ended in rather embarrassing failure. It’s a little hard to gauge whether he wanted to throw his head back and laugh or just hide his impending tears of laughter while talking about it, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it was the latter given the intensity of his failed business.
The actor spoke about the same in detail revealing the reason behind his apparent social experiment. And it’s not a happy or pleasant story by far, to say the least.
Henry Cavill went completely unnoticed when he went to Times Square
Henry Cavill recently decided to perform a rather risky but interesting experiment by taking to the crowded streets of New York’s Times Square in a Superman t-shirt with the sole purpose of testing how many people recognize him. But the plot twist is almost too insufferable because no one has been able to discern him like DC’s famed Clark Kent.

The British actor stood just below the huge billboards of batman versus superman hoping that at least some people, if not many, will recognize it since dawn of justice. However, it was in vain as it was clear that no one was rushing to him for autographs or photos.
It turns out the only people who noticed Cavill were those who probably didn’t even know him at all. “The only person who stopped us was someone asking for directions to Central Station,” he said. “And there was another person who said, ‘Hey, hey, hey, you can’t take pictures here. That was it.”

Henry Cavill explained his latest experience to Jimmy Kimmel
Apparently the Enola Holmes star was just looking to prove one of his particular points, which is why he came up with the idea to try such a thing in the first place. Who knew it would backfire so terribly?
While talking to Jimmy Kimmel about it, he explained why exactly he put the idea into practice. “There have been so many doubts about the validity of Superman’s disguise, namely the glasses. I think it was a perfectly reasonable disguise. Cavill pointed out. “So, I put it to the test.” Looks like the disguise was a bit too impeccable though, no one being able to recognize it.

Although he flashed a calm smile while saying his experience just proved he was even more indistinguishable with glasses, we don’t know much, he was probably holding back tears of humiliation. Or desolation. Or both.
It’s truly unfortunate to see such a talented and renowned actor go so horribly unnoticed among a street full of people.
But then again, that’s just Times Square for you.
