She-Hulk: Lawyer rewarded many fans with what looks to be an amazing penultimate episode. People who previously voiced their disapproval of the Tatiana Maslany-led show have now come forward to speak out for it. Showcasing an authentic and accurate portrayal of Daredevil with consistent praise for being in love with the chemistry shared between Matt Murdock and Jen Walters, MCU fans have been charmed by the Disney+ series.

Plus, an intriguing reference to one of the franchise’s biggest plot points has fans of Steve Rogers’ Captain America rejoicing. In the episode, we see Matt Murdock declaring in court footage how the Sokovia Accords were officially abrogated. The Sokovia Accords were a set of legal documents intended to regulate the activities of superheroes under the direction of the United Nations.
The existence of these laws was the main point of contention and conflict in Captain America: Civil War. Thanks to this, we have seen a rift threatening the links between the avengers. Deleting such a plot point is certainly thought-provoking and could have some interesting implications for future projects.
New episode of She-Hulk references the Sokovia Accords

In a courtroom sequence where Matt Murdock and Jen Walters represent their clients Luke Jacobson and Eugene Patilio (or Leap-Frog), respectively, the former explained how the essence of Luke Jacobson’s job requires and “need” the need for anonymity. Then, nonchalantly, he dropped the bomb and said: “May I remind you that the Sokovia Accords have been abrogated.”
Such bizarre and somewhat abrupt confirmation came years after the legal documents appeared to be stuck in narrative limbo, in a space of ambiguity. That’s not to say the agreements weren’t mentioned throughout Phase 4. However, such references never really revealed much to the public.

Now, however, fans have a concrete answer as to what happened to the deals. Although the date and reason for the repeal were not specified, She-Hulk: Lawyer certainly gave us food for thought. Plus, Matt Murdock, who we all know and revere as fan-favorite lawyer by day, vigilante by night Daredevil, being the one to break such news certainly mesmerized audiences; add meaning to his statement.
Another group of fans expressed excitement about being on the right side of MCU history. The reveal allowed #TeamCap fans to poke fun at Iron Man and his actions during the events of Captain America: Civil war.
Captain America fans demand an apology

Like the events of Captain America 3 unfolded, fans witnessed the Avengers split; a direct consequence of the fact that some heroes support the Sokovia Accords and others disapprove of them. Established by the United Nations and presented by General Thaddeus Ross, the set of legal documents aimed at establishing a system of liability with regard to the unauthorized activities of enhanced individuals. It was an attempt to minimize the damage caused by the activities carried out by several superheroes.
The deals came about as public concern grew and people began to view the heroes with suspicion, associating them with large-scale and unimaginable destruction.

Unfortunately, the introduction of the Accords broke the Avengers in two. Tony Stark believed in accountability, while Steve Rogers had an obvious distaste for the overbearing and imposing nature of agreements. There was a distrust on his part of the government (particularly following the events of his past solo films) which aimed to establish control over superheroes.
The schism grew and spawned two more groups. One who believed in Tony’s cause, the pro-deals, and the other who supported Steve, the anti-deals. The rest is of course history.

The latest revelation from She-Hulk once again sparked the debates that plagued the Marvel community in 2016. While many began to argue that Captain America was right all along, others came forward to defend Tony’s beliefs and actions. On the other hand, many feel that the removal of such an integral plot point suggests a lack of interesting and believable writing. Therefore, it could be that no team actually…won?

if you see the way jenn was destroying that parking lot you would also want some form of accountability ☠️

The only problem is the permanent damage from the agreements, in the comics Peter followed the agreements and took the mask off and a few issues later Aunt May was shot.

not the sokovia accords being repealed 💀 they really misused this plot and then threw it away like an old sweater? like of course i don’t think it would have worked in the long run but how it was so pointless and basically forgotten post-cacw says a lot about the bad writing pic.twitter.com/eyuzf3wIar

While people are entitled to support any side, the repeal of the Sokovia Accords opens up an attractive future. We all know that Love at first sight is an upcoming MCU venture that will feature a motley crew of anti-heroes/villains. Without the agreements in place, it would be interesting to see the impact on the narrative that will revolve around the group led by Yelena Belova. Plus, we could learn how and why the agreements were abrogated in the first place.
It would be fascinating to see exactly what the MCU has up its sleeves so they can seemingly redact such an important plot point.
