Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have six children together, Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and 14-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. The couple are once again in the news as Angelina Jolie backs up on her 2016 Brad Pitt abuse allegations against her and their children.

Angelina Jolie accuses Brad Pitt of physical abuse
As for what Angelina Jolie sees as the reason for her family’s breakup, she accused Brad Pitt of physical abuse in 2016. The incident allegedly happened on a private plane during a France-California flight. Angelina Jolie claimed that Brad Pitt “strangled one of the children and punched another in the face,” as good as “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her.
This incident was investigated by the FBI, but no charges were filed against Brad Pitt. Angelina Jolie then called for the federal report to be released, filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) complaint against the FBI.

Angelina Jolie, in a court filing on Tuesday, stood firm on her accusations against Brad Pitt. The new file reveals how Brad Pitt allegedly attacked his then-wife and their children after one of the children verbally defended their mother. The record reads as follows:
“When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him. To free Jolie from her back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the plane’s seats, injuring Jolie in the back and elbow. The children rushed inside and bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt strangled one of the children and punched another in the face. Some of the kids begged Pitt to stop. They were all scared.”
Brad Pitt has also been accused of pouring alcohol on Angelina Jolie and the children.
The filing continues to indicate that Angelina Jolie had no choice but to defend herself publicly for the first time as Brad Pitt sued to regain control of her financial life.

A source, allegedly close to Brad Pitt, tells PEOPLE that Angelina Jolie’s claims hold no truth and that she is only trying to attract attention to the detriment of his family:
“She had the opportunity to share information with law enforcement who made the decision not to press charges. She resorted to trying to keep rehashing the same thing. Going back to the same thing month after month with new information always false for purposes that only she can understand.”
Even though some people don’t believe Brad Pitt would ever hurt his loved ones, he and his legal team have yet to comment on that.
