The MCU launched its latest Phase 4 movie and once again it followed the trend of introducing a new character in its post-credits scene. Black Widow, Eternals, No coming home, Doctor Strange 2and Thor 4 were the ones who did. And now wakanda forever did the same. Only this time, the character that was meant to be brought in was not. The movie only had one credits scene, which was very special. But it didn’t include Doctor Doom as many would have originally expected. And now MCU Vice President Nate Moore has answered why exactly he was missing from the movie.
Rumors that Doctor Doom is in wakanda forever had been floating around the internet for over a year before wakanda forever came out of. And things got even crazier as some of them suggested that Henry Cavill would be the one to represent him. But all of those rumors were put to rest when Cavill returned as Superman, and now Wakanda Forever has put the nail in Doctor Doom’s coffin as well.

The general belief was that Doctor Doom would be the author who pitted Namor against Black Panther. Many even thought the Lake Bell character would work for him. But that didn’t turn out to be true either. Doctor Doom was nowhere to be seen in the movie, and that’s a very good thing for a variety of reasons.

Why Doctor Doom Wasn’t In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Here’s what Moore said ComicBook.com when asked if Doctor Doom was in the movie.
” It was not [a plan] to be completely honest. Although I understand why, and he’s such a big character in the world of Latveria and Ryan is a fan. But once we decided that Namor was going to be the antagonist, that was always going to be the goal.
Most of us would agree that Doctor Doom was unnecessary in the movie. It was already peppered with many new characters and narrative elements. Doctor Doom would have simply over-complicated things. His absence allowed Namor to be a much stronger antagonist, and that’s what anyone would have wanted from him. Namor needed to breathe (literally) and it’s good that he got it.

A naturally woven conflict between two protagonists always works best when done right. We didn’t need another Lex Luthor for Batman to fight Superman, or another Zemo to destroy the Avengers empire from within. Using Riri as a reason was good enough to drive motives on both sides. Instead of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it would be better if Doctor Doom had his own space. If it’s not a standalone movie or a Disney+ series, then Doctor Doom should at least get a special presentation like night werewolf before or after The Fantastic Four spell.
