3 days ago, Netflix announced the production of a armament of war live and adult anime series on the streaming platform. Shortly after, Dave Bautista was nominated by the armament of war video game series creator Cliff Bleszinski will be cast as Marcus Fenix. While the nomination itself comes as no surprise, it’s somewhat unfortunate that Bleszinski was sidelined – both creatively and executively – by Netflix when adapting his game series.
Meanwhile, Dave Bautista’s fan cast has taken off with immense excitement among fans, as the actor himself has made it clear where he stands with a armament of war adaptation.

Dave Bautista responds to the armament of war Adaptation
Released in November 2006, armament of war is a multimedia franchise based on the eponymous video game series created by Epic Games and owned by Xbox Game Studios. For years since its rise in popularity, Hollywood star Dave Bautista has expressed his wish to star in a film adaptation of the series and claimed it was his “fate” do this. So when Netflix announced the development of a armament of war live-action movie, Bautista wasted no time stepping in the door with a short teaser introducing himself as one of GoW characters.

This recent development aligns with Hollywood’s obsession with adapting video game franchises into live-action movies. Some of the most popular of recent years that have been submitted to the big screen are Far cry (2008), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010), Assassin’s Creed (2016), Warcraft (2016), resident Evil series, Hitman, Tomb Raider, Werewolves inside (2021), mortal combat (2021), and Unexplored (2022). Other adaptations like The Angry Birds Movie, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros.and Detective Pikachu are less gritty and more prone to a PG-13 rating than the above.

armament of war Netflix adaptation: what can you expect?
While not much has been revealed about the live-action movie or adult anime series adaptation, Netflix’s announcement regarding armament of war has fans racing to put on their best sorting hats to finalize their main roster casting. Cliff Bleszinski is at the center of this narrative and he specified Dave Bautista by name as worthy of Marcus Fenix and wants a Latino actor cast for Dominic Santiago. According to Bleszinski, Chris Pratt shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the franchise while Ryan Reynolds would make a great Baird.

Given how much Bautista has expressed his intention to play in the armament of war live-action film, it would certainly be interesting to cast an actor already invested in the existing franchise. The practice of allowing actors to get to know their characters worked to the benefit of the production, as Henry Cavill proved in Netflix’s the witcher series. Besides, if armament of war does not work, the Guardian of the Galaxy The star still has Kratos to fall back on, yet another character the actor wants to embody in case a production decides to adapt the PlayStation God of the war series in a live action movie.
