‘Silk’ Series Finds Its Showrunner In ‘The Walking Dead’ Producer Angela Kang

The Silk series found its showrunner in The Walking Dead producer Angela Kang.

Amazon has officially announced that it is developing a TV series around Spider-Man character Cindy Moon, aka Silk. The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang oversees the project, titled Silk: Spider Societyunder its new multi-year TV deal with Amazon.

In addition to being the showrunner of the series, Angela Kang also produces Silk: Spider Society alongside Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the masterminds behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Former Sony chief Amy Pascal is also on board as a producer.

“Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Sony’s recent live-action, animated reimagining of the Spider-Man franchise represented one of cinema’s most dynamic superhero stories,” said Jennifer Salke, director of ‘Amazon Studios. “With Angela Kang’s creative vision, we couldn’t be happier to bring Silk: Spider Society to our MGM+ and Prime Video customers.”

Angela Kang added, “I am thrilled to join the Amazon Studios family for this next chapter in my career. I look forward to working with the management team on various character-driven water cooler shows for global audiences and am excited to embark on my first challenge – bringing Korean-American superhero Silk to life. on the screen.
