Chris Hemsworth to take a break from Hollywood after learning he has life-threatening rare disease

Chris Hemsworth discovered his biggest fear during Limitless

Chris Hemsworth was last seen on the big screen in Thor: Love and Thunder. Next love and thunderthe spider head star is featured in No Limits with Chris Hemsworth. With his new show, he is testing his limits by stepping out of his comfort zone.

Each episode depicts him facing new and potentially deadly difficulties, as the End of Game star trains his mind to overcome anxiety. In episode five of Unlimitedhe discovers that his DNA contains two copies of the APOE4 gene.

APOE4 increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Not only can the gene trigger it at an earlier age, but having two copies of the gene increases the risk two to three times. According to a 2021 study from the National Institutes of Health, only 2-3% of the population have both copies.

He said “Yeah, it’s like one in a thousand… or one in 10,000. I can’t remember. But eight to ten times more likely. “Since you told me that, I feel like my memory is deteriorating. It’s a placebo effect, or it’s happening! » Hemsworth shared.

Chris Hemsworth plans to take a break from acting

After finding out that he might have a better chance of getting Alzheimer’s disease in the future, the star trek the actor decided to spend more time with his family. “Now, when I finish this tour this week, I’m going home and I’m going to have a good chunk of free time and just simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife,” said Chris Hemsworth.

He then shared that working on Unlimited made him realize he wasn’t ready to leave yet. Speaking of his children and his family, the ghost hunters shared star, “Oh my God, they’re getting old, they’re growing up and I keep putting another movie on another movie.”

He said they would soon turn 18 and start their own lives. Although he has made sure not to plan for his retirement, he will take a short break as soon as he completes his current projects.

Chris Hemsworth is set to appear in two upcoming films, Extraction 2 and Furiosa. His next movie to be released will be the 2020 Netflix movie sequel Extraction. Extraction 2 is expected to be released in 2023. The official release date of the film is not yet available.
