He used his Twitter platform to promote the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and also tweeted a few more lines regarding the MCU. Referencing his favorite character, James Gunn introduced Kevin Bacon and his MCU debut, the director tweeted his tweet.

Salty DC fans have responded to the director and reminded him of his allegiance and loyalty that he now owes to DC Studios. The Brightburn producer reacted to each tweet in kind. He further clarified that David Zaslav was aware of the deal they were in and was well within his rights to promote his franchise despite it being from Marvel Studios.

James Gunn has responded to numerous trolls and silenced quite a few salty fans since his new post. After keeping it a secret for a long time, James Gunn has revealed that Kevin Bacon is part of the MCU. Protagonist Peter Quill had also mentioned several times that Free from all ties was his favorite movie. Kevin Bacon served as the film’s protagonist. Although his role in the special has yet to be confirmed, the actor will surely do something out of the ordinary considering James Gunn.

It was reported earlier that James Gunn would be done with the MCU as soon as the guardians of the galaxy end of franchise. The third installment will also serve as the final part of James Gunn’s trilogy. So far, there have been no such confirmed movies in the MCU where James Gunn is the director. It seems that following the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the director will likely only focus on the DC side of things.
