‘I don’t want to become this old man who’s out of touch’: Quentin Tarantino wants to retire because he doesn’t know what’s going on with a movie these days

Quentin Tarantino has given away one blockbuster after another, making fans even more eager to know what his next film could be, however, this could be his last film as the director wants to retire after his 10th project. His world-building, storytelling and cinematography have been appreciated and rewarded, being well-deserved with works like Kill Bill, once upon a time… in Hollywood and Django Unchained.

Quentin Tarantino wants to retire after his tenth project

In an interview with CNN, Quentin Tarantino revealed how he might just retire after his next film for fear of falling behind the modern stride of cinematography. He states that his films already seem out of date and could easily become stale quite quickly.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and it’s time to wrap up the show…I don’t want to become this disconnected old man when already I kind of feel like a disconnected old man when it comes to the current movies that are coming out right now. And that’s what’s happening.

With a career spanning over thirty years, the director doesn’t want his movies to go bad and wants to retire in his prime. He even made it known that if he had the chance, a goal of ten films would be his desire before he retired. This, understandably, isn’t something fans would want to see. Every film he introduced to the world became iconic and with it, his name became equally iconic.

What could be Quentin Tarantino’s last movie?

He did too, though he stated with a bit of doubt that he wouldn’t mind making a movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although his views on superhero movies are similar to those of Martin Scorsese, he would have liked to see his own version of comic book heroes come to life one day.
