The Sun reports Johnny Depp’s return to the franchise, alleging his name appeared on the call sheet for the Pirates of the Caribbean film. In 2017 Pirates of the Caribbean: The Dead Tell no tales was the last film in which Depp portrayed the much-loved role.

According to Sun’s report, the famous actor is supposed to have a test shoot in the UK in February 2023. After winning the high-profile libel case with Amber Heard, Depp was approached about returning to the franchise.

Although at the time the actor turned down the offer, there are still rumors about his return. A source said no director was attached to the project yet and it was still in its early stages. Still, the movie’s name came across as ‘A day at sea.’ Bruce Hendricks is named executive producer of the new project and was also part of the first three films.

“All details of the film are being kept secret since Disney wants it to be under wraps”, the source said. They also added that a muster sheet is distributed to known people.
