‘Let’s Say… Anything’s Possible’: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Could Really Bring Tom Holland’s Web Slinger After Producer Chris Miller Teases Potential Appearance

Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse is among the highly anticipated movies of 2023. Into the Spider-Verse was critically acclaimed and is still hailed among the top 3 Spider-Man movies to date. It featured 6 different Spider-Men from across the multiverse, and we expect to see plenty more in the upcoming sequel. We already know that Spider-Man 2099 will have a leading role. A variation of Peter Parker was a mainstay in Part 1. And we think he’ll be back in Through the Spider-Verse too. But plenty of MCU fans and Sony’s Spider-Verse fans would love for Tom Holland’s Spidey to make a cameo in the upcoming film as well. And that might actually become a reality now that Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse Producer Christopher Miller was recently asked about it and he got a positive response.

In the latest issue of Empire magazine, here’s what Miller said when asked about seeing and hearing Tom Holland in the movie:

“Let’s say… Anything is possible in the multiverse”

It’s obviously not a definitive yes, but he didn’t say no either. So people could still hope.

Tom Holland Spider-Man in Spider-Verse?

And besides, the last statement is better than what Miller and co-producer Phil Lord said in a February 2022 interview when they were asked about it. Here’s how the conversation went:

Miller: The multiverse is big and wide. And all things grow… Why would you think that a multiverse, in which many things are possible, [those things are] no link?”

Lord: Everything is possible except for this one thing that everyone wants.

This one thing is a cameo from Holland.

How the MCU Could Join the Spider-Verse

It’s likely that since Sony owns both the Spider-Verse side and the Spider-Man side of the MCU, they could unite their two franchises if they wanted to. But even if, for some reason, Marvel and Disney resist putting Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in one of the next Spider-Verse sequels, then they could do something else and still connect the MCU to their franchise. animated Spider-Verse.

It’s already been established that Sony’s live-action Spider-Man franchises exist across the vast MCU multiverse. So they don’t really need to put on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to connect their Spider-Verse to the MCU. They might just have one of Andrew Garfield’s or Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men in Through the Spider-Verse. It will also be a nice surprise and a point will be proven that the MCU Multiverse and Sony’s Spider-Verse are one and the same.

But that being said, Kevin Feige and co. shouldn’t really have a problem if Tom Holland makes an appearance in Through the Spider-Verse. But if he doesn’t, then it should totally happen in Beyond the Spider-Verse, because Holland’s Spider-Man is the crown jewel of Web Slingers. So his cameo should be saved for last.
