Donny Blaze and Wong in She-Hulk Episode 4
She-Hulk episode 4 was released on Disney+. The episode had a ton of magic. It saw the return of fan-favorite character Wong. He also introduced another magician who was previously a student of mystical arts called Donny Blaze. However, there was a pretty obvious flaw in the whole story of Donny Blaze and his origins. So let’s see what it is.
Donny Blaze’s Story
So who exactly is Donny Blaze? He is a third-grade magician who performs cheap tricks and recklessly uses mystical arts in his show at the mystical castle. He basically uses his previous experience as a student of mystical arts in Kamar Taj and his sling ring to open portals. However, he knows next to nothing about magic and opening portals to different dimensions. This makes his actions extremely dangerous. In his show, he asks for volunteers and then proceeds to send them to unknown dimensions.
Such a volunteer was Madisyn King who somehow ended up next to Wong at the Kamar Taj. This is where we find out that Donny Blaze was actually kicked out of Kamar Taj. It was because he used magic to summon 3 barrels and his fraternity brother Ky Dog. Due to his reckless use of magic, Wong decides to take him to court and Jen gives him a cease and desist. Later in the episode, he accidentally opens a portal to hell and a group of flying demons enter the mystical castle through the portal. Wong and She-Hulk then have to come over and basically clean up his mess.
The Obvious Flaw in She-Hulk Episode 4
Throughout the episode, Wong expresses his dislike of Donny Blaze and basically has no respect for him. He tells Jen that the case he needs her help with is extremely important and can have dire consequences. Even during the court proceedings, he makes a great speech. He talks about the dangerousness of Donny Blaze’s actions and how they cross dimensions. In addition, he warns the judge against the consequences of breaking reality which can cause ripple effects with unimaginable consequences.
So the question is how does Donny Blaze still have his sling ring? If he was deemed unworthy and reckless and literally expelled from Kamar Taj then why wasn’t his sling ring confiscated. Surely Wong the Sorcerer Supreme would have seen this coming and taken the necessary precautions. After all, Wong is considered one of the MCU’s most responsible and serious heroes. He understands her priorities and does everything in his power to protect the world of mystical arts and the Sanctum Sanctorum. So how exactly did he forget to take the ring from the slingshot? It is the property of Kamar Taj and is only given to its members. Moreover, it must absolutely be removed if a magician is deemed reckless and dangerous. What do you think about this?
