Shamika rose, Ph.D., a professor for Health Equity Transformation and assistant professor in the Department of Behavioral Science and a member of Markey Cancer Centre and Prevention of Cancer and Control Program, has said that some of their study findings can help the leaders of their respective communities to create certain policies that can reduce the exposure of young life to tobacco.

Policies that can reduce the exposure to tobacco, mainly in vulnerable communities, will be helpful to find the increase in tobacco-related health inconsistency between different communities in aspects of color, less income population, and youth.

The paper produced in the annals of behavioral medicine in July was the larger study of rose, and it led him to examine exposure to tobacco marketing among young adults. Rose and Julia Chen Sankey co-led the study; Julia Chen Sankey is with the national institute on minority health and health inequalities and presents he is an assistant professor at Rutgers university center for tobacco studies.

Rose said that if the tobacco exposure goes beyond the level, then it results in tobacco retailers marketing their stuff in casual places such as grocery stores, gas stations which normalize the tobacco use among young adults.
