The New York City Governor, Kathy Hochul stated that the state might get with the omicron variant community spread and it has become a major risk if this happens. As the new variant has already crossed approximately 30 states.
During his meeting, Biden acknowledged the latest research and preliminary data available on the Omicron subtype. The data was on the effectiveness of Pfizer on the new Covid variant. The initial lab tests of Pfizer have confirmed that three vaccine doses of Pfizer can protect one from the Covid Variant.
Also, Pfizer in its official announcement stated that the current situation demands a third dose for the citizens as it will boost the immunity power by 25 times.
He also exerted on the fact that medical experts and scientists are studying the characteristics of the Omicron variant to draw some definite conclusions. He also shared a piece of positive news about the vaccine.
In the brief meeting with the response team, he revealed that the FDA has now approved booster Covid vaccines for 16- and 17-years olds and this means now this particular age group is also eligible for Covid Booster shots.
Biden gave a clear message stating that “If you have got your vaccine six months ago then. You must get your booster vaccine shots right away. I urge the press and Americans to come forward and take your booster shots for the Covid vaccine at the earliest as it is the only way to safeguard ourselves from Covid and create some good memories with our family this Christmas festive season.
Biden also emphasized the fact that America is making progress, the number of vaccinations has increased considerably in the last few months. He also expressed that America records 200 million with two shots and more kids vaccinated than anywhere on the earth.
Although the cases are creating new records and have crossed more than 120,000 cases daily in the United States and majorly from the Midwest states.
Biden also revealed some astonishing data about Covid booster shots. He said that “More Americans are now supporting the Covid vaccination drives and the medical experts who were against this move are now standing with the government to provide booster shots to all the fully vaccinated adults in the States.
As per the data available, about fifty million people have received their booster shots and we are getting more people to get their booster shots. Currently, the booster shots are at a record place with around one million people taking their booster vaccines per day.”
