How Omicron Races Ahead Of Other Virus Strains In Infection
Federal health officials have now started counting numbers. The CDC has also reported a huge rise in Omicron cases in the past week. If you go state-wise, Omicron seems to be the most dominant infection trend now.
In the last week, almost 650,000 Omicron infections have occurred. Moreover, since June 2021, the Delta variant was doing the rounds. But now, the scenario seems to be a lot different.
However, none should be surprised at the results. This was bound to happen if experts are to be believed. In November 2021, the South African authorities rang the alarm bells at the new strain that is called Omicron. Since then the variant has shown up in almost 90 countries. However, not much has been unearthed about the Omicron. Studies are still on, to ascertain how strong a strain it is. Moreover, no one is sure yet, on how the virus strain will spread. However, early studies suggest that a booster dose might be the answer to all your woes. It should offer strong protection against severe ailment conditions and death.

Growth of Omicron

The authorities are in observance mode on the number of infections in hospitals and the condition of the hospitalized patients. CDC has conducted several trials and research on the Covid specimens that have been collected to date. Scientists are busy studying and analyzing the Genomic sequence to study the versions of the virus, that are most abundant.
Ending Dec 11, the CDC has revised the estimated number of infections that have occurred. The cases are increasing from 0.4 percent to 3 percent to now, 13 percent. CDC is also not yet sure how many hospitalizations and death are going to occur. Today, there is a mix of infections of the Delta and the Omicron variant, that makes stress compounded.
New York has seen a steady increase in the number of Omicron infections and subsequent hospitalizations standing today. The beginning of community spread seems to have started. Massachusetts, Washington state, and New Jersey announced their first cases on Saturday. Then a day after the other U.S. states like Georgia and Maryland reported their first confirmed cases. So, now the entire U.S. is on watch mode to find out how it all goes about. The Omicron scare is genuine and a lot depends on the course the virus takes, to be judged in totality.
