Since the outbreak of Covid, the US is in the news due to the surge in a number of cases. Things are going against the expectations and the omicron variant is now the dominant variant which was expected in the month of January.
US Decides To Address The Challenge Of The Vaccine Mandateṣ
Dr. Anthony Fauci, The Chief Medical Consultant of the Federal Government stated that the vaccines and booster shots are the major tools to beat the omicron variant infection. He also stated that there is no reason for people not to get vaccinated.
The unvaccinated population is expected to be 58 million and approximately 80 percent of the adult population. The non-vaccinated people are more dangerous for the vaccinated individuals.
Though the introduction of Covid vaccination has brought an immense sigh of relief for the administration there is still a certain group of citizens that are showing their resilience to take their dose of vaccination. Owing to this opposition, Biden in the month of September issued a vaccine mandate rule for the Federal workers, organizations, and executive agencies. The mandate stated that the workers will have to compulsorily vaccinate themselves to serve their service else strict actions will be taken.
This move of the Biden administration was condemned by the opposition political leaders and some medical experts in the country. They reacted to the mandate stating that this mandate is against the fundamental right of the citizens and state Governments.
The opposition emphasized the fact that every American citizen has a right to decide on the vaccination and the state is more liable to provide an effective medical system to its citizens. A plea was filed in the supreme court to challenge the vaccination mandate rule by the White House Administrators.
Meanwhile, the US Supreme court removed the ban from the vaccine mandate rule by the Central Government after President Biden wrote an application to the judge and now employer mandate and health care worker mandate will be in force.
The White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday gave a statement highlighting the need to be more vigilant due to the widespread of the Omicron variant. In this statement, he said, “As the omicron variants are spreading at an enormous rate across the US, It is significant to ensure the safety of the health care workers.
Many health care officials and now the political leaders who were opposing the Covid vaccination rule have now started to make people understand the importance of vaccines and booster shots.
The Federal Government is closely working with the state administration and trying their best to improve the testing and boosting Covid vaccinations in all parts of the country. The OSHA vaccination rule ensures that the employers and health care workers are safe from the infection and to limit the spread.”
