Change In The Quarantine Rules For The Health Care Workers
When in the month of September 2021, President Joe Biden came up with the new rule and announced a vaccine mandate for all employees and employers in the United States. It also included health care workers, frontline workers, contractual companies.
Furthermore, the states opposed this vaccine mandate rule in the United States and filed a lawsuit against the US Federal Government and challenged the rule stating it as an unlawful act to suppress the rights of the citizens of the United States.
The US Supreme court earlier this week authorized to lift the ban on the vaccine mandate rule which was imposed by the political leaders. Now with the increase in the omicron strain cases, the state governments have accepted the rule have directed all the employees and health care personnel to get vaccinated and those who are eligible to receive the booster shot must go and receive it at the earliest.
The new cases will increase the hospitalization rate in the United States and the already shortage of healthcare staff in the US hospitals will lead to more deaths.
Now as per the latest news, there is a great shortage of medical staff in some states and keeping in mind the issues the Federal Medical agencies have to lessen the rules for the isolation process for the healthcare workers if someone gets caught with mild covid 19 symptoms.
Earlier the isolation time period was 10 days which has been reduced to seven days and this time cutoff will help in reducing the shortage issues. This rule is applicable to those who will test negative and possess no symptoms of Coronavirus.
The US CDC has also announced that if the shorage will increase the time period will further reduce to five days depending upon the severity and how the body reacts to the post-treatment.
The omicron variant travels much faster than the delta variant and it has been expected by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that this strain has the potential to infect 140 million US Citizens in a small time period. Although the hospital admissions will be less than the delta variant where the percentage was 45 and in Omicron its 20 Percent.
To reduce the dependency on the testing staff, the US Government has been working to provide free covid 19 testing kits at home. Although it has been claimed by some medical experts that these home-based testing kits might not be able to detect omicron strain but surely it will help people to know about the symptoms present in the body.
