Ideal Human Weight Decreases The COVID-19 Severity

With the rapid virus spread worldwide, many fears and chaos remained among people’s minds about the severe effects and risks of this deadly virus COVID-19. The majority of people who got infected by the virus and those already associated with other disease risks are experiencing severe symptoms and illness, leading to hospitalization and deaths.

Ideal Human Weight Decreases The COVID-19 Severity

Researchers say that heavy risk factors are developed among the transmitted people if they already existed with another disease such as heart-related problems, obesity, etc. most of the biggest risks are developed during the COVID with a severity that eventually weakens the immune system and, in some cases, leads to death.

Ideal Human Weight Decreases The COVID-19 Severity

According to the study analysis, 70 percent of deaths due to COVID are associated with other risk diseases in the United States. Other risk factors are also under notice about sex, obesity, and ethnicity with severe outcomes.

Some of the early and previous studies say that most people suffering from obesity and overweight are getting admitted to the ICU and experiencing hospitalization. Among those, most of the cases are required with mechanical ventilation compared to the people who are not associated with other diseases like obesity.

Study report says that many factors were taken under consideration which is influencing the risk among people with heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. People with BMI under 23 are at risk of getting hospitalized due to COVID-19 transmission, which might also lead to death. Investigators say that low body weight is linked with frailty.

At an earlier stage, many scientists noticed a growing trend of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had already swept with COVID cases in the United States, and significantly obesity is under consideration for symptom severity among COVID-19 transmitted people. Eventually, every data says that obesity is the threat for severe complications among COVID-associated people.

According to a survey conducted to calculate the deaths and admissions of COVID transmitted people, the result shows that 45 percent of people who ended their lives under ventilators are overweight and obese. For this majority of deaths, researchers stated that “people with ideal weight will reduce the risk of COVID-19 symptoms and may protect you from deadly threats.”

The study also suggests that for people who are suffering from obesity and carrying the fear of COVID-19 transmission, weight loss is the better prevention to protect from the severe symptoms and helps reduce the risk of complications with huge health benefits.

Steven Nissen is the lead researcher and author of this study; he says that “weight loss is not a tough job” by mentioning that he said that losing weight is an easy process that will help the world to decrease the severity of coronavirus risk at a greater population level eventually weight loss also helps for other risk diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.

Researchers say that weight loss is also made through bariatric surgery, which will similarly show a lower risk with 60 percent in order to decrease the complications of COVID-19 symptoms and infection.

According to the study research, obesity will weaken the human immune system by inbuilding the chronic inflammatory state, eventually increasing the severity of blood clots, cardiovascular disease, lung conditions, and heart diseases.

The study aims to examine and create many outcomes of intervention for weight loss among obese patients who are trying to reduce their contact with COVID-19 transmission and risk of obesity or overweight.

The study suggests maintaining ideal weight and people suffering from obesity to decrease their weight by maintaining a proper diet with healthy precautions to reduce the contraction of coronavirus and the risk of heavy symptoms.
